A story of authentic beauty and nostalgia.
I believe we were designed by God to live in community amongst beauty. My role as a photographer allows me to capture that design with every opportunity.
I used to hoard disposable cameras as a child and pester my little brothers to take pictures with me. I'd carry my digital camera on vacations with my family and capture every detail I could: the balloons at Disney World, seagulls of the Texas Gulf Coast, my mother dressed up for dinner. I always appreciated the significance of the moment. But then I became a wife and mother. Taking photos meant more than appreciation for natural beauty- it became a duty to legacy. If there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that time doesn't wait. It passes before you know it and you find yourself looking back sooner than you anticipated. What I have left of the most meaningful memories of my childhood, wedding day, and the milestones of my son's life are... the photos. And when I realized that, the weight of this work became apparent.
Capturing the most important memories for others is one of the greatest privileges of my life.
Rooted in love, inspired by family, enamored with storytelling.
Documentary photography with timeless warmth
Fun fact: My husband and I joked about starting a photography business in college when we were still just friends. We connected on a spring break trip with a group of friends because we were the only two to bring proper cameras, and we spent the trip bonding over composition and storytelling!
While I appreciate flawless images, I'm more inclined to capture your story the way it unfolds. Every gallery should have a mix of posed + clean and emotive + imperfect. My documentarian approach comes with the intention for you to look back on your images decades later and remember it as it happened.
Quick Facts about Megan:
- I'm inspired by home design. Being creative within my own home is a great alternative creative outlet for me aside from photography!
- I've been obsessed with traveling from a young age. A few of my favorite places I've visited are the Serengeti, Spain, and Costa Rica. I'd love to add travel planning to my list of qualifications in my business. How fun to work with couples in capturing their wedding and planning the perfect honeymoon for them?!
- I'm a Texan through and through. I spent 5 years living in the Midwest, and while I enjoyed my time in Wisconsin, you can't ever convince me that there's a better place than Texas to watch the sunset.
- I'm happiest by the beach. It could be the Texas Gulf Coast or the most exotic beach in the Caribbean - it doesn't matter to me. If I can hear the waves and smell the salt air, I'm one happy girl!
